Our Rubicon family is still talking about how great the Capital Area United Way Jambalaya Jam event was last week! Cooks from around the community gathered together to showcase their jambalaya and small plates—all for a good cause.

Thanks to our cooks, helpers, and volunteers for supporting a great community event! We look forward to next year!

Telling Our Story at RPCC

Telling Our Story at RPCC, Educational Panels at RPCC

This summer five educational panels were installed in the Technical Building at River Parish Community College (RPCC). The panels were installed to educate the students on the history of Rubicon and the polyurethane industry. The panels also feature the two winners of the 2019 Rubicon REAL Awards, a new award given to RPCC technical students classified as non-traditional.

We look forward to continuing the development of our relationship with RPCC through the educational wall sponsorship, the Real Awards, and support in the development of the upcoming Process Equipment Technology plant that will soon allow RPCC students hands-on experience during their course work at RPCC.

Sprinklin’ Reliability Across Geismar

Sprinklin’ Reliability Across Geismar, Grip Seasoning

Here at Geismar, we are a part of global efforts, one of which is the Global Reliability Improvement Program.  This program is all about global collaboration…creating one global community to share best practices in the areas of mechanical, process and human reliability.

In an effort to remind our associates and contractors on-site about the importance of Reliability, we recently launched our new GRIP Seasoning!  We hope to “sprinkle” the message of reliability across our site!

Lasting Partners in The Community—Rubicon And APSO, Rubicon Employees with Christmas gifts

Every year Rubicon partners with Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Department (APSO) to assist in adopting children in need for their annual Christmas Crusade project.  The program collects toys and monetary donations for less fortunate families in the community.

This year Rubicon employees sponsored 40 children and provided them with toys, clothing and games.

Giving Back With Backpacks 2018

Giving Back With Backpacks 2018

For the past 20 years, The Christian Assembly (TCA) Summer Learning Program has supported the children of Ascension and surrounding parishes. Eartha Rayborn, founder and overseer of the program, ensures children are taught the curriculum for the upcoming school year with an intentional focus on leadership and character development.

For many years, Rubicon has provided food and school supplies for TCA’s Summer Learning Program, and this year is no exception.

In May 2018, Rubicon employees helped deliver more than $5000 worth of food to TCA for the children to have hot lunches every day.  On July 18, 2018, Rubicon provided backpacks and supplies to each child for their upcoming school year.

“Rubicon’s mission, vision and values are summed up in what we call our Unifying Operational Purpose, ‘One family, committed to excellence, delivering specialty chemicals that improve lives across the globe’.  “Improving lives across the globe” starts with giving to our local community and those that serve it so well.  We believe in the program at TCA because Ms. Rayborn and her staff put forth great effort to be a catalyst for positive change in the community.” — Tanya Stilley, HR Representative.

Rubicon Welcomes Our Near Neighbors

Rubicon Welcomes Our Near Neighbors

Twice a year Rubicon hosts its Near Neighbor luncheon for local non-profit organizations. Some non-profits represented are Darrow Citizens United, The Christian Assembly, The Arc of East Ascension, Caring Parents and more. This event allows for an open discussion of the needs of upcoming community programs.

Rubicon provides an array of support to these organizations throughout the year, such as providing back-to-school supplies for children in need, food for educational programs and giveaways during the holidays for the elderly.

Rubicon is honored and privileged to be a part of the local heartbeat of this community and look forward to partnering with them for years to come.
